MOT600 boards are designed to allow users to quickly evaluate and implement a laser diode design based on the MOT5550GC-xx and MOT6550GC_xx series laser driver module families. All module configurations are supported, and the board contains all required components, including the laser driver module.

The board includes onboard diodes that can simulate the laser even if no laser is present. The OEM can be used standalone and includes connectors for monitoring system parameters such as diode current and module temperature. Onboard potentiometers can be used to set output current.

Various controls signals are also accessible, including output current control voltage and reset/shutdown functions, making it very easy to connect to a host control system, further simplifying development.  The user needs only to provide the approriate supply voltages and the laser of choice, and can be up and running in minutes.

Constant Current & Constant Power Laser driver OEM board MOT605_xxGC_CC / MOT605_xxGC_CP:

The MOT605 OEM boards are functionally equivalent to MOT600 but have a similar footprint (72 x 51 mm). The interface connector (CN8) includes an LD_SET pin, which was missing in MOT600 boards. MOT605_xxGC is designed for single-supply laser drivers, namely the MOT5550GC and MOT6550GC. Please refer to the user guide for details.

The MOT605_GC board includes all components, including the laser driver module, and is ready to be connected to the laser. An onboard dummy load (a series of diodes and a 1 ohm resistor) will assist in experimenting with this board before connecting it to a laser.

PRECISION LASER DRIVERS DUAL MODE, CONSTANT CURRENT (CC) AND CONSTANT POWER (CP)

These modules are used to control the current or power of laser diodes, used in a range of applications requiring drive currents of up to 1A. Applications include Fiber Laser, Direct Drive Laser Diodes, DPSS and EDFA.

These modules feature all the required drive circuitry for either constant-current or constant-power (using a feedback photodiode) operation, along with over-current and over-temperature protection circuitry. The modules come in a small form factor package (20mm X 27.5mm X 6mm), and uniquely to ModularOne; versions are available to allow for grounded-case operation for all available laser diode / photodiode integrated assemblies. (Refer to “Laser Diode Configurations” document for further details). They feature an integrated Voltage Reference; Temperature Sensor and are specifed over the industrial temperature range.

For even faster implementation the modules are also available pre-soldered to a printed circuit board, together with most other components needed to implement a basic system. Simply connect a power supply and your laser / assembly of choice.See Laser Driver Boards.
