These precision temperature controllers are used for driving Peltier Thermo-Electric Coolers (TECs) where accurate temperature control is a prime requirement.  These electronic modules incorporate all the necessary components and control loop compensation networks in order to minimize the design time required to be ready for use in the end equipment.

Extensive filtering and unique ripple-cancellation technique optimize component sized and efficiency which reducing noise.  Differential design has been used throughout in order to maintain better than 0.002C temperature stability.  Output current, rather than voltage, is directly controlled to eliminate current surges.

Individual heating, cooling current and voltage limits provide a high level Peltier TEC protection.  The models are provided in a small footprint package and are specified over the Industrial Temperature Range.

MOT7001 is identical to MOT7000 except it allows individual +ve and -ve current adjustments within the maximum current rating.

MOT3000-25 is a new design with +/-2.5A maximum current rating and -/+0.002° C temperature stability.

TEC Controller OEM/EVM Board MOT701

MOT701_XXTEC Board is designed to allow the user to quickly evaluate and implement a Thermoelectric Cooler (TEC) design based on the MOT700x or MOT3000 series TEC controller modules. The board contains all required components other than the Thermoelectric Cooler (TEC) module itself, the associated temperature feedback thermistor, and your MOT700x / MOT3000 module of choice. MOTMOT701_XXTEC Board is designed to allow the user to quickly evaluate and implement a Thermoelectric Cooler (TEC) design based on the MOT700x or MOT3000 series TEC controller modules.  The board contains all required components other than the Thermoelectric Cooler (TEC) module itself, the associated temperature feedback thermistor, and your MOT700x / MOT3000 module of choice.

An Object board (MOTEVM_OBJ) is available for test mounting the TEC, which includes a temperature feedback thermistor.  The MOT701_XXTEC can be used stand alone, and includes connectors which can be used for monitoring system parameters such as TEC current and object temperature.  Various control signals are also available, including temperature control voltage and soft start enable functions, making it viable to connect the board to a host control system, further simplifying system development.  The user needs only to provide a 3.3 – 5V supply voltage and a TEC module, and can be up and running in minutes.

This feature is not implemented normally unless it is requested when ordered.  The Object board is used for test mounting the TEC, which includes a temperature feedback thermistor and diodes which can be driven by MOT705_xxTEC to generate heat, simulating dissipation form a laser diode or other heat generating elements of the target system.

TEC Controller OEM/EVM Board MOT702

MOT702_XXTEC OEM board is designed for systems requiring higher density or redundancies. This OEM board accommodates two TEC controller modules which could be used either independently or together. It allows customers to integrate this board into their system.  It has all the components required for the controllers to fully function.  This board is fully populated and includes a ribbon cable for connection to the TEC device and the termistor. A further series of connections are provided for external monitoring and control signals.  Each controller drives and controls its own TEC module.  Please refer to the MOT7000 & MOT3000 series of TEC controller modules data sheets for the electrical capabilities of the modules.

The MOT706_OEM has all the functionality of the MOT705_OEM in a smaller footprint (50mm x
35mm).
The MOT706_OEM is designed to allow the user to quickly evaluate and implement a
Thermoelectric Cooler (TEC) design based on the MOT700x and MOT3000 series TEC
controller modules.
The small footprint is specially useful for OEM applications where it can be directly incorporated
in your system.
A small connector allows all the control and monitoring signals to be accessed and used with
users microcontroller. It is also can be used standalone utilizing on-board potentiometers to set
target temperature and monitor object temperature, TEC current and temperature alarm status.
